Johnson & Johnson said early Friday that it is widening its recall of certain over-the-counter drugs due to complaints that some lots are tainted with an unusual mildew or mold odor. The company added that some users of these products have also reported experiencing nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea after ingestion. The recalled brands include several adult and pediatric formulations of Motrin and Tylenol, Benadryl, Rolaids, Simply Sleep, St. Joseph Aspirin, and Tylenol PM. J&J said it suspects the cause of the contamination to be the breakdown of a certain chemical in the wooden pallets used to ship the products. Details on which products and lots are being recalled can be found at www.mcneilproductrecall.com. Consumers can call the company at 1-888-222-6036. In December, J&J recalled several lots of Tylenol products over similar complaints.
