The death of a six-month-old child prompted a recall Tuesday of some 635,000 cribs from Dorel-Asia sold at Kmart, Sears, Wal-Mart and other stores. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 20 crib models whose drop sides can detach and create space where a child can suffocate or strangle. Johnson & Johnson said early Friday that it is widening its recall of certain over-the-counter drugs due to complaints that some lots are tainted with an unusual mildew or mold odor. The company added that some users of these products have also reported experiencing nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea after ingestion. The recalled brands include several adult and pediatric formulations of Motrin and Tylenol, Benadryl, Rolaids, Simply Sleep, St. Joseph Aspirin, and Tylenol PM. J&J said it suspects the cause of the contamination to be the breakdown of a certain chemical in the wooden pallets used to ship the products.
